Not been out on the hacktrack yet - I'll start work first today - so maybe some lads at work, for motivation...

They're investigating something on a film set, where one of the cast is the daughter of a politician and has been threatened, but is adamant that she's not going to give up her relatively minor part. The lads have to protect her and find out what's up... Well, maybe one day I'll write it properly. *g*
It's Only a Beautiful Picture - that's another ep I like, even though the lads aren't together as much as I'd prefer. Wandering the London streets together though, and then they're out of ordinary context again - off undercover, in the deepest countryside, with each other the only contact... a sugar-beet salesman and a rebellious London cop. Now there's an AU... *g* Maybe I'll watch the ep tonight - if I get on and...
...work. I didn't finish until about half-ten last night, because I broke off in the middle for a few hours, and then made one of my Riverford recipes (only nice if you like mushrooms, which I don't much), and... well, it turns out I'm still rubbish with Job 1. It's weird - I had to sit in one place for Job 2 as well - maybe it's more that Job 2 involves contact with other people, but Job 1 is just plonked here on my lonesome, with no one to distract/interest me... But I shall try again today - and this time do the longer document first.

Date: Tuesday, 21 July 2015 09:38 am (UTC)It's Only A Beautiful Picture is the one where the baddies are smuggling ancient statues and paintings etc. out of the country in a wee plane, and there's a slavering doberman that Bodie fights off with an electric heater in a pub, and there's Doyle dancing to music on the radio and pissing off his superiors on purpose, and they pretend-meet in the local pub and sit in the beer garden and chat... *sighs happily* It's this gorgeous ep (which post explains the next bit, so check out the next one first, if you've time *g* - and also the ep where this happens, which I'd forgotten about and I love - their smiles at each other there! *sighs happily again*

Date: Tuesday, 21 July 2015 10:11 am (UTC)I'm sorry that you are struggling with work. One thing I know now is that I really couldn't work from home. It's so *sapping*. However do you cope??

Date: Tuesday, 21 July 2015 10:22 am (UTC)And yes! The yellow t-shirt! (Although I do object to the idea that various colours are only suitable for one or other gender - I hate the idea that we might have missed out on Doyle in yellow, or Bodie in pink, or that I'm not supposed to be wearing blue/black/whatever colour they decide isn't "feminine". Just - gargh!
I like them wandering around the gallery too, being all civilised... and then pushed right back to settling for sausage sarnies at Nell's Caf... *vbg*
Actually, do you know Dave Matthew's Professionals website (I was going to include the link, but it seems to be down right now)? That has good summaries of the eps... I've been thinking that I might reorganise my tags too, and have one for each ep, so if I can get to work for gawd's sake! maybe that'd be a fun job for sometime... *g*

Date: Tuesday, 21 July 2015 09:58 am (UTC)The end, with Doyle threatening to blow the plane up and laughing at Bodie being led off by the Police, LOVE!
I was in the virtual office for an hour today, still can't make myself do the dreaded part, which involves making phonecalls.
Today's excuse: Mr. Maus is sickly and at home. Can't bear to be overheard talking on the phone awkwardly.
Good luck with your work!
Hopefully the weather at your place is acceptable?

Date: Tuesday, 21 July 2015 10:26 am (UTC)Eep for dreaded phone calls... though I quite agree with you that you don't want people hearing you dealing with that sort of thing. It needs privacy! *g*
I'm now having a rubbish-with-work morning, and am trying to tell myself that it's okay to have a pottering-morning, that's what working at home should be able to allow... except that really I must work. It doesn't help that instead of the forecast rain all week, it's gloriously blue-skied and breezy and warm, which would be fab weather for going off out somewhere... oh, I want a holiday! How's your weather over there? Still roasting? (Hey - maybe we're getting your roasting-weather now!)
Ooh - just distracted by weird little jumpy-creatures on my desk... where did they blow in from? They look like teeny tiny slater-bugs (woodlice) with really long antennae - and they jump rather suddenly and impressively... but they're tiny tiny...

Date: Tuesday, 21 July 2015 11:58 am (UTC)Job 1 troubles are really just me-whinging troubles, honestly. There are advantages too - I was just able to write a wee bit for my Victorian story, and have it hovering in the back of my mind instead of concentrating on whatever I need to for other jobs... You would have been so welcome to the mushrooms! I like them well enough in small amounts, in things, but... I gave my leftovers to landlord for their lunch - hopefully they'll like it! *g*

Date: Tuesday, 21 July 2015 09:00 pm (UTC)Lovely lads, though, and there are a number of excellent moments in the episode. I wish I could watch it now...
Nice to visit your office. :)
