I finished work early! Well, on time. Well, around 7pm. Early! I went for a walk around the backtrack - hah, lads on my mind... *g* - hacktrack, and chatted with landlady, and actually caught up with lj replies a bit, and now - now I've made myself a Crane and Day (orange liqueur, Prosecco and passionfruit juice - I should have rimmed the glass with lime juice and sugar, but... I'm sweet enough. *g*) and now - now I really do fancy a Pros ep, and I fancy the lads sitting around in the sunshine. And I liked [livejournal.com profile] snailbones comment the other day about our lads littering up the place - I reckon we need more of that, so here they are - some favourite moments from It's Only a Beautiful Picture... *g*

We start off with the lads in a gallery. Why are the lads at the gallery?

Although it's quite fun to see them wandering around the art, not quite fitting in for all Doyle's artistic background... *g* He reckons he "should have been artistic"... I reckon he is artistic, and has had too much free champagne, and is looking forward to some loose living with Bodie later that night. Wot? It's a theory... *g* I mean, these things are always evening dos, and they've got to go home... to someone's home... *vbg*

The lads don't know what's going on either, work-wise - they've been sent to the gallery and a steelworks. I like slightly sulky lads... At least Doyle has a toy to play with (apart from Bodie). *g*

Holding hands in Trafalgar Square... okay maybe not, it was the 70s/80s, but any excuse to grab/hold/touch... *g*

And hee for lads thinking they were so clever finding the Felby connection - bless 'em, they do like Cowley to be pleased with them, don't they... *g*
BD disappointedFelbynumber

The shirt moment!

(Note this picture from earlier in the ep... *vbg*)

See why I really do like this ep...? *happy dance*

And the lads in Cowley's club - love it. Sausage sandwiches in Nellie's Caf while Cowley's eating asparagus and sea bass... and Doyle is not to be Dick Daring...

It's all the looks they give each other in this ep! *g*

What does Doyle think Bodie means when he says he's had plenty of cream teas in Felby...? Considering Doyle has greeted him with "The place we're living in..." *g*

Very beautiful sleeping Doyle in the car...

Hee - "I love your office Bodie"... but whatever are Doyle's "leg exercises", before the lads go off together...? *g*

And then there's stuff and action and Doyle whirling fire around his head, and Bodie presenting his hands for cuffs, and of course they're victorious, cos they're our lads. And Doyle laughing when Bodie's carted away in his cuffs is another thing of beauty, and HG's Black Sheep really does it justice - well worth a read if you've not yet!

I do like that ep - so many gorgeous moments, and our lads together all through... *g*

And if anyone else would care to drop in some lads, how lovely would that be? *g*

Ah, thank you - very nice pic! I shall nip over and tell you what I especially like about Bodie's black shirt in this ep (I've just added it to this post above, more specifically... *g*) Nice to see our lads together, littering my flist!

Nice photos! Makes me want to pull out my DVDs and watch a few episodes.

But I have to admit to be intrigued by your drink. I may have to order it someday.

IOABP really does have some lovely moments - well worth watching again! *g*

As for the Crane and Day - it's related to one of my favourite series of books - the Charm of Magpies series by K.J. Charles, and is the drink made up for her by one of her fans over on facebook, so sadly I don't think you'd be able to order it anywhere... at least not yet... *g*

The picnic in the back of the car always makes me chortle - they have a plate, table cloth *and* the sarnies are cut into triangles... big butch city boys slumming it in the country? :)

I know! How elegant do they make it look! Mind you, I've noticed that blokes are quite often the ones wanting things just so, especially as they get older... *g*

I totally agree you all your points there. How can you not love this episode? I actually re-watched it last night. And they're sitting *so* close together at that pub garden table... I'd always thought the car Doyle is asleep in was Bodie-the-machinery-salesman's. Or is it? Doyle-the-sloppy-detective-sergeant is only supposed to drive a motorcycle, right?
Love them swapping shirts *vbg* and I like your post-art-gallery scenario involving loose living at one of their flats ;)
And how gorgeous does Bodie's curlying hair at the back of his head look? *dreaming*
But the top moments for me are Bodie's delight at taking the piss out of Ray as soon as Cowley informs them at the club Ray has to go back being a policeman, only followed by Doyle's dirty laugh at learning Bodie is to into sugarbeet machinery *g*
And yes, another dirty laugh at the end at Bodie being led away in cuffs... What a delight!
Thank you.

They are close together in the pub garden, aren't they - all happy to be together again... *g*

I always think the car Doyle's in is from his work - he's obviously not a uniformed copper there, so presumably he could take a car from the pool, too. But I was also thinking it wasn't the station wagon that Bodie drives, and now I'm not sure whether we saw enough of it to know one way or the other. I'll have to watch again one day... *g*

And yes for the lads winding each other up in Cowley's club - love it! *g* And all the mischievous looks and dirty laughs... *happy sigh* Such a good ep!

Oh.. forgot to add, Doyle looks too cute playing with that toy in the car... his delighted smile when he succeeds (doing whatever he's supposed to be doing with that... keyring? or something that looks a bit like it) is so boyishly sweet... Oh I could go on...!

Replying separately just for fun... *g*

I think it's one of those magic tricks/puzzles that you used to see (way back when... *g*), where you have to work out how to separate the rings, or shapes or whatever without breaking the links - I love that he's so pleased when he does it! I always wonder if it was really MS's toy that he fiddled with between takes, and Doyle just happened to pick it up - it seems like an odd thing to put into a script!

I like this one quite a bit - the villains are quite coolly, believably villainous, and Doyle doing his best to be offensive is rather fun. :-)
