The Virtual Office Roundabout - Wednesday

Late! I'm late, I'm late to the office... couldn't sleep last night, after going to bed too late anyway (but I rewatched some Tripod again this morning and it still made me giggle. *g*) Ack, ack, ack. How am I going to finish before 8pm tonight if I didn't finish until 7pm yesterday? Well, I only have an ordinary number of words to proofread today, and you never know, maybe they'll be easy ones... *crosses fingers* Let's have some inspiration, let's see...
Oh, this one, because even though I don't know what it says (*makes hopeful eyes in the direction of Germany*), it's got a picture I don't remember seeing before (even though I obviously have, cos I've had this article for ages and I think it's one of the ones I scanned)... But that one at the bottom of Bodie at the targets - I don't know that one!
And actually the one of undercover-Doyle (it is *g*) with his punching bag (is it still a punching bag when it's one of the ones that stand up not hang down?) - I've seen similar pics, but actually now that I look at it, maybe not this one - just elements of it, in other pics, like the bag and the t-shirt and the beard!
I've got/seen a few Die Profis pages from German mags, and they often have pictures that you don't see anywhere else for some reason - how fab is that? I wonder what else is out there... *g*
Right, am I fortified enough...? Ooh, here's a fortifying thought - if by any chance I could write anything again, ever, it might be fun to take the pics in this article as prompts to write a story - fitting them all into something would be fun (that's the bit I've always liked in challenges, fitting things together like that...) One day! Today my goal had perhaps better be just to squeeze in some more Round Robin story again, at last. I sat down to do it last night only to find that lj was down for maintenance, and then I was distracted by Tripod...
Today...
9.30-10.00 - Late start, and posting this of course...
10.00-11.00 - Well done, me. Organised email folders to make things easier to find. I'd originally gone to open an email ready to start work. *headdesk* Job 1.1 1/41. *headdeskheaddesk*
11.00-12.00 - Yes, I am complete pants today. Job 1.1 6/41. It's a good one, and I'm counting on it staying that way and being quick, and the others too. In which case here's the rule - if it's so quick, then I have to finish it by 13.00. What I did instead, after those six pages, was grab a biscuit cos I was hungry and make the mistake of eating it on the doorstep rather than inside. Cos then I thought I'd check my pots. And found tangles of caterpillars on my cauliflowers (bastards!). So I had to de-caterpillar. Then I had to get rid of them, and bumped into someone from the yard who was just leaving, and wondered about the mysterious bloke who'd just turned up, and was probably a vet, but... So then I realised I was the only person home, so I had to check him out just in case, and he was on the phone, so I walked half the hacktrack as an excuse to go back when he was finished and politely say and-who-are-you? and that was ace cos I had a brilliant idea on the way around, and also the peeps who works on the yard arrived and clearly new chappie, so good. And wouldn't it be good if I could take Wednesdays off Job 1, somehow, cos I suspect it's today that my concentration goes and I need to so something else. And I don't mean as a holiday, cos rent etc., although it'd be nice to try for a while to make it a writing day (what luxury!), but it could be a day to work somewhere else instead, and give me a chance to find something that fitted in... But I'd better do some workings out just to be sure I could, cos my belt is already clinching on the tight side... *shuts up now and goes back to work. no, really* -
12.00-13.00 Dunnit! Job 1.1 7-41/41. *g*
13.00-14.00 - Job 1.2 and Job 1.3 complete - downloaded new assignments - now lunch!
14.00-15.00 - Erm... lunch extended a bit... and I lost the plot somewhere (or the will to live...) Putting down Tripod...
15.00-16.00 - Job 1.4 and... stuff. Fiddle!
16.00-17.00 - Job 1.4 and... stuff. Fiddle!
17.00-18.00 - Job 1.4 19/19. Fiddle!
18.00-19.00 - Job 1.5 1-2/22 - reply to email and much more enjoyable proofreading... *g* -
...stuff-stuff-stuff-work-stuff - 20.40 - finished!

Virtual Holidays
Date: Wednesday, 5 August 2015 10:28 am (UTC)I love my dose of Pros everyday!
Crosiing my fingers and toes for easyy proffreading!
Today we had sunshine waking us again, now there's neither sun nor rain and everybody just pottering around, nohings happening, no plans, except nobody wants to go to the beach with me.
I would like to translate, but you looking at germany means what? *gggggg*
RE: Virtual Holidays
Date: Wednesday, 5 August 2015 10:36 am (UTC)Rats for people not wanting to go to the beach! How can they not want to go to the beach? Doesn't everyone want to go to the beach all the time?! Although pottering is nice too... *g*
You're not in Germany right now! *slants one eye across to Denmark and then on second and third thoughts also to other countries of the world where people who can read German are (*runs out of eyes*)* *g* Ooh, and you would like to translate? Wheeee! Translating is nice holiday pottering, while waiting for people to come to their senses about the beach, right...? *vbg*

Date: Wednesday, 5 August 2015 12:58 pm (UTC)(If you're using the "insert picture" button in lj, there's a drop-down menu where you can choose the size that you want it to show as, which helps, and you can also tick the link that says something like "Link to Original", then people can click through to the full size. Or if you're a bit code-y, you can insert height="50%" width="50%" into the code before the >, which is what I like doing, cos then the size adapts to the screen rather than staying the same and the screen having to fit ar)ound it. Or whatever percentage looks right, obviously. *g* Not that I'm code-y, but someone told me how to do it. *g*

Date: Wednesday, 5 August 2015 11:37 pm (UTC)I like the bits of Cassidy with MS in - and I like him being a slightly-dodgy character too, though I also admit that I'm totally swayed by HG's Hunted by Devils Cassidy fic - have you read that? I don't know if she's put it online yet, but if so it's great. *g*
My copy of Cassidy is a grainy transfer to DVD too - I wonder if they were based on the same original! I can't remember whether there's anything missing - I wrote a synopsis of it when I last watched it, years ago - oh, and glancing at that post, Hunted by Devils is at least up at the original Hatstand - worth checking out (link at the bottom of my post)! Actually there are pics there too - if they look better that your version, let me know and we'll have to see what we can arrange... *g*
