I started out so well! I was here at 9.30am, getting into my sit-at-your-desk headspace... and then the laundry was ready to put out, and the bits of stuff needed doing, and suddenly it's 11am and it's not fair! Quick lads, save me...

How're you doing, this sunny Monday?

Starting my day out with music

because it is 6:30am and the sun isn't even due out for another half-hour. Not even a glimmer on the horizon yet. Blerg. ;-) But "The Butterfly" by Shelly Phillips always cheers me up when I need it. Much needed coffee first and then on to the exercising (I have PROMISED the espoused) and setting up something to marinade for dinner tonight and then down the road to the office.

*whew*

And writing, of course, in between the spaces....

Blimey - the sun's still rising just before 6am here (okay, 5.59am today, so I suppose it won't be tomorrow... but still!). You've already got an hour less sun? Now I'm trying to work out if that means you're north or south of me... Hmmn - south, cos the sun rose at 5.43am in Fairbanks Alaska today! *g* Either way, it's going on for noon here and I'm still feeling not-awake yet... *yawns*... Maybe I should make more coffee... zzz...

I like the sound of your day - especially if you're getting all that done before a 9am office. Or even a 10am office. Or... *g* I swear my time melts...

Oh - writing! *g* I'm very much looking forward to lunch break... *vbg*

*immediately cheats by going to find The Butterfly...*

You know, I thought Georgia for some reason, but when you add maths into an equation (erm, so to speak... *g*) I just get turned around too often... *g*

It must be hard to settle down and work especially when the sun is shining and it's nice out. I'm glad that when I work from home I'm reminded that my employers can track every job I do (and hold me accountable for the time taken) so it's easy to get into the work mindset. Don't know how I'd manage, though, if my work wasn't being tracked. Too many distractions.

I'm actually pretty good at settling down to work with most things - what I'm not good at is settling down to work on a single thing for hours at a time!

I hate the idea of being watched/tracked in general though - no worries with people knowing what I'm doing, its more the idea that people who don't trust me are watching in case I slip up. Not just for me, I don't think that's fair for anyone. Yeah, some people need more motivation than others, but that seems more threat than motivation to me... The office-age version of people standing over you with a whip...

I'm tracked for every job I do, mind - if I don't do it then I don't get paid! *g* And if I didn't work to the deadlines, then I wouldn't be employed, because that's what the job needs. But it's up to me how I do those things, and if I get on and do them then all is good. I'm distracted, yeah, but I'd be distracted in the same situation if I was in someone else's office too - that's me and this job, rather than me and best for me...

Even the sun doesn't usually matter that much re: distraction - I can be just as distracted by a lovely rainy day, and even more by gorgeous windy days... *g*
