Oh wow, they're lovely - a reminder of why I sometimes love this time of year, it really is pretty!

I always love this time of year - well, a little bit further along really, when it's properly autumn, but yeay for the prelude too! It is pretty!

I do love the autumnal feel to these beautiful photos. I suppose as we're approaching my favourite time of year I would. *G*

After a summer of grandkid minding - lot of fun - I'm looking forward to a bookish September and maybe a few outings and just being around a bit more. Hope all is well with you?

That's exactly how I feel about it! I actually didn't have many expectations when I took my camera, and I was surprised at how autumn-y the world was when I looked closer.

Yeay for book-ish Septembers! Having had a rush of reading, I seem to have come to a bit of a stump in mine. I've got about ten books listed as currently reading at Goodreads, but none of them have really grabbed me, so they're languishing more than they should... Meanwhile I've also re-read half a dozen books that GR won't let me list for a second time - or at least I can't figure out how to make them count...

And right this second, I'm revelling in what seems to be peace and quiet at last, after the Christian-Festival-6-weeks-from-hell... so much loud music and thumping bass for six weeks! Even closing windows (in the summer!) didn't help, it was so loud I could hear it over the tv sometimes... Another reason I've been longing for the end of the summer!

Hee! My babies, my babies!

It's a really snaily year, isn't it? I had the most gorgeous little pink fellow right on my doorstep this morning - thank goodness I looked before stepping!

The photos are lovely - the colours in the first two especially. And your blackberries are way ahead of ours - why is that? Your apples are fatter too - maybe Somerset has been wetter than here? Anyhow, lovely autumn piccies, ta ever so!

Hee - you know I was thinking of you all the way around the hack track! *g* I had no idea how snaily it was this year until I was glancing in the hedgerows for early blackberries - and they were everywhere, all cute and curly!

Most of the blackberries aren't nearly out - but I'd spotted just a few a couple of weeks ago that were already black! I didn't try them then, but I tried one yesterday, and it was sweet! I had a couple of early windfall apples yesterday too, cookers that I made into wee pots of apple crumble, using ramekins that were originally those posh desserts from the supermarket - the Little Pot Co., or something? Yummy, anyway... *g* Ha - sorry, off-topic! Yes - rain! No - we don't seem to have had loads this summer - in fact I've been guilty of neglecting my garden-pots a bit cos I'd think it was going to rain on various days, and then it never did... The rain actually seems to sweep around our end of the valley (or whatever it is...), somehow...

Oh! I've seen the occasional snail in a shell, but never, ever, anything like that! So many! So different!

A Friend's Friend - how exciting! *waves back* (I've seen you around, I think - oh, in [livejournal.com profile] astreiant probably, now that I glance at your lj in return. And around Gilda's, I expect. *g*) And gosh - I've got various of the same books on my reading pile as you've been reading - cool.

And yes - I'm not sure I've seen so many snails all at once either! It was like coming across little snail villages as I walked around the fields by the hedgerow... *g*

what interesting snails! I'm afraid ours are quite boring and plain.
And are we playing spot-the-snail in the apple photo? If so, I give up!

They are quite pretty, aren't they - such delicate swirls!

Sorry - apples and berries are snailless - I didn't think to say so, but I should have! Didn't mean to have you looking for hours... *g* (I don't know a symbol for sort of wry grin, but... imagine that's what that is!)

Lovely photos! I love snails 🐌. I'm staying at the moment at my parents' beach house and the garden is full of these cute creatures too. Your camera must be pretty good at macro focusing, especially of plants or flowers or fruits... not easy especially when there's a breeze and your subject never stands still *g*. So... well done!
