Here, it's already in full swing, with daffodils, crocus, hyacinth, and some trees blooming.
I'm sitting on hot coals (do you say that in english, when anxiously waiting for news?) waiting for a phone call from the mechanic about the MG. Hoping, they didn't find anything else major!
It is going to be spring soon! Oh, and how fab that you're already in spring-mode - sounds lovely! I do like seeing blossom on trees, especially... *g*
I've got all my fingers crossed and thumbs held for MG! Sitting on hot coals sounds about right - or we might say on tenterhooks (I had to go and look up why - apparently this is why! - stretched taut with tension, on tenters (and held in place by hooks... *g*)!) Either way - I hope the MG is safe from major things too!
Oh, sorry! I got distracted by another car problem, and Mr. Siskiou's Afib acting up.
The MG is pronounced healthy, and they didn't find anything else! :)
Our old (1993) Subaru Impreza, which is my "around town" car, has developed a startup problem, not related to the battery. After some reading, it probably needs a new solenoid, or a good smack with a hammer, each time it fails to start.
We will try and fix that soon, and in the meantime, I'm going to drive the MG to work and shop. :)
My red tree is from Angelsey Abbey, which had my favourite winter gardens - definitely something I miss about being out east! The hail was very hard, and it stayed around for a bit - we had a brief but quite dramatic storm of it this morning. Spring's only just thinking about starting over here, but it is starting to think about it - and there are even a few places where its well on its way, with patches of snowdrops and daffodils (planted by the gardeners, I suspect, but pretty all the same!)
I think I might have finished getting well, except for a slight lingering cough, but it's so slight in comparison that I almost don't mind it! Have to see if we're really going to start getting warmer though - someone told me yesterday we were in for cold weather over the weekend, at least... But it's so much lighter now, that's nice - it was still light when I headed off to writing group this evening for 6pm - lovely!
Wow. The hailstorm produced some amazing photo results! As heliophile_oxon says, the hail looks like sand and quite dry, it makes your potted plants look quite 'surreal' and very interesting :)
Isn't it funny - I didn't really think of them as surreal at all, but that's probably cos I knew exactly what they were, and had been interacting with what they were.... *g*
It's a wee dogwood - the kind that I loved in the winter garden at Anglesey Abbey. What I need is a whole line of them across the gravel somewhere - I love the colour, and it was lovely and green in the summer!
