I actually finished my (relatively interesting) Job 1 pages early today, and so I nipped out to do a few chores. Amongst other things I had to return something to the shop at Stourhead, and while I was there, and while it was warm and balmy and I was wearing a summer dress because it was that kind of weather, I thought I'd actually visit, and go for a walk through the gardens. I did rather kick myself that I'd forgotten to bring my proper camera, but I made do with my phone... *g*

Anyone else eyeing up the tumbleweed in lj just now, or is it just me...? You know, I think there might have to be lads tomorrow. Please! *g*

Fantastic photos! I like the Monet lily pads and the pink carpet :), and the slight blurriness of the phone camera here and there gives your photos a really atmospheric look. I think these are great!

Thanks! I was kicking myself for forgetting to chuck my proper camera in my bag (which is usually automatic), but my phone does the job in an emergency - blur and all! The pink carpet was lovely - and I liked the gnarled and twisted tree trunk emerging from it, too. And then the lily pads were accompanied by curled-up ferns! I may need to go for walks there more often, rather than volunteering there... *g*

Oh! Oh! Such pretty pictures! I love the bluebells in the second picture, and the pretty petals? in the fifth one, and the tree trunks in the sixth one and the wonderfully-atmospheric archways in the seventh one (with the perfectly-situated statue.) Lovely! Ta for sharing them :-)

Thank you! *g* Stourhead was looking gorgeous in the spring sunshine, all bluebells and blossoming trees and all!

Your photos are gorgeous - and I have to add, as usual! You consistently have such good framing and composition that it's easy to take for granted, when in fact those things are anything but a given. Don't know which I like best - maybe the second of the two petal-strewn pathways; I always prefer (visual) asymmetry *g*

Thank you! I have to say that I do do an Ansel Adams and cull the other 99 photos that I take of each subject, but if its good enough for him... *g*

Only trouble is - there's only one petal-strewn pathway, hmmn! I'm kicking myself I only took one picture of the pink-carpeted tree, mind, that's how it goes wrong, when you then want to show everyone how beautiful something was, and don't have a better picture to do it... ah well!

I'm like you too, I prefer visual asymmetry (though it needs to balance, still) - the ones with the temple in them niggle at me a bit, but my phone battery was low, and I couldn't take too much time to try and find perspectives I preferred of the same pictures. Oh well, again! Luckily Stourhead balances itself, by being generally pretty... *g*

Thank you! It's nice when I've got some time to actually get away and make more of an effort with them!

You do such a good job with these, one would take them for professional photos. I love all the colours, too, which are just gorgeous.

Thank you! I wish they were clear and sharp enough to be professional, but that's where no one would hire me compared to the real professionals! It'd be lovely to have a job where I was paid to take photos though - another dream! *g* It helps to have good scenery though - Stourhead is beautiful at this time of year, I think!
