Well here's exciting - I seem to have finally woken up without a headache again. Next time I decide that a little experiment in dairy foods is in order, I must remember that previous results advise no, no no! I only just managed to remember my 366 photos on a couple of the days, but I did...

Saturday 20th August - the night garden (aka the-one-I-nearly-forgot-to-take)

Sunday 21st August - thought I'd see if I could get my typewriter working again, for distraction-free writing. The carriage is broken, and a bit of googling reminded me that I'd had problems with the drawstring. A bit more googling suggested that I was missing the entire mainspring, which is what the string attaches to. Bugger. I loved my typewriter. I don't remember taking the spring off, mind, but perhaps I did. Have a strange feeling it may be difficult to find a replacement...

Monday 22nd August - saw the pretty sunset through a haze of I-can't-work headache, and realised I'd almost forgotten to take a picture again. So, sunset.

Tuesday 22nd August - too the day off properly and rearranged work as far as possible, which wasn't very far. Pleeeeease may headache be gone tomorrow...

Loved the eyelashes of this sunset - and then it was such a simple red stripe later that night...

Wednesday 24th August - headache still not properly gone, but dulled enough that I managed to work. And remember just in time to take a photograph. *headdesk*

Meanwhile it's also been hot (still is a bit, and muggy cos it rained, though there's a bit of coolness in the air - I'm up for autumn, now!), and... nope, I think that's it. Headaches and hot. A swallow got trapped at my window yesterday - inside. Oh - I did pick up my fiddle again, two days in a row, after months and months of not. Was impressed to find my fingers working much better on it than I expected them too - such clever memories fingers have. *g*

Oh - and Ripper Street is back (hurrah!), and Poldark soon, and I actually watched The Great British Bake-Off last night, cos I felt like some pointless fluff that had very little possibility of being important, mean or dishonest. I don't usually like shows where they set people in competition with each other and encourage them to be spiteful and unkind, but that doesn't seem to happen in Bake-Off. Plus the cakes are pretty. *g* And then I watched a programme about British skies, which turned out to be about people in them, but I was lazy and kept watching and it was quite interesting/entertaining (and also lacked unkindness, so yeay). *g*

I shall try and catch up on replies (again) in between bouts of much-work-catching-up today. But how're you doing...? *g*

Ah no, Headaches.... may they be gone now!!

We're back from Vienna and Austria, unpacking is done, now cleaning and washing and putting away is about to happen.
Hardly wifi at the campsites, amazing, but Austrias Campingtourism is just about to get going, not that much to be had yet.
I am planning to take my flist on a belated virtual holiday, just a plan yet, though. *g*

Great that you have so clever fingers! I thought about your archery a few times now, don't know what triggered it.

Now it's outside into the heat and sun to gather the airing sleeping backs and to hang the first load of washing to dry.

Oh, welcome home! I hope you had a lovely time (even if - maybe partly because?! - there was no internet!) How surprising that there's not much camping in Austria - I wonder why? I do hope you have time to take us on a virtual holiday though, i would love to go!

I've been thinking about holidays again over the past few days too - I so need to escape properly soon! There's a meet-people-to-travel-with website I've been a member of for years, but not interacted with, and someone's thinking about a four day trip to Budapest, which I thought might be a good start (if it's inexpensive enough). And then I thought about Germany again, too... *g* I definitely need to get out of the house more - and further away!

You have heat and sun too! Hope it's in a nice way, and that your sleeping bags air and your washing dries quickly, at least! *g*

Germany is definetly ready for you! *gg*

I think Austria is more hotels and B&B's and little pensions and flats or houses to rent.
It was kinda nice without the net. And we had a great time!
Saw a lot of interesting things.

Heee - I like the idea that the entire country must prepare itself... *vbg* (But yeay! *g*)

*waits patiently for your photos * *g*

yea for the return of Poldark! Luckily, I'll be back home when it starts up on PBS. I thought Aidan Turner was a dream when I first saw him in Being Human. He's only gotten better with age. *g*

Sorry to hear you've been under the weather...which is probably being caused, at least partly, by the weather. I'm really hoping it cools off by next week.

Yeay Poldark! *g* I first saw Aidan Turner in Desperate Romantics, where he was very dream-worthy - I liked him in Being Human welll enough, but even more as a dissolute Gabriel Rossetti! He's definitely getting better with age though, too, which is always nice to see!

I suppose the weather might have played into my headache a bit, but I think it's too much of a coincidence that I experimented with eating something dairy again and then had a crashing headache again. Frustrating (cheeeeeeese! ice creeeeeam!) but at least I know... Today is feeling a bit cooler as we go through the day so far, so I'm hopeful! I don't like it too get too high in the 20s, myself... and despite Auntie Beeb saying yesterday was forecast as 22C, it was 30C in my wee yard!

You do capture lovely sky pictures :)

Begone indeed! (So far so good...*g*)

And thank you! I worry a bit that people will get bored with yet more sky in my posts, but I can't resist when it looks so pretty... *g*

So far as Poldark goes...I enjoyed the new adaptation at first, but found myself dissatisfied with the shallowness of it by the end of the run - just not enough episodes to cram the story into, and many of the characters and sub-plots were short-changed as a result (reading the books and learning what could/should have been didn't help!). But such a pretty show, and it achieves what it set out to do, which is tell a sweet romantic story about Ross and Demelza.

I seem to remember that! *g* I think it did seem somewhat shallow, in a Poldark-the-eternal-hero kind of way, but I can't remember the books well enough to remember where. Which is a bit worrying, cos I re-read the first one after watching the series! But yeah. I suppose the Beeb was trying to cater to audiences with short attention spans for series, but I do with they wouldn't...

But like you say - very pretty. *vbg*

I hope the headache buggers off and stays buggered off - nasty useless thing.

Thank you! Perhaps I shall only post sky pictures, from now on... *g* That said, it's a bit flat-white out there just now, so perhaps not such a good idea!

So far so good for buggering-off headaches. I shall have to stop poking it though - it was my own fault it bit back this time... *sighs*

Not much notice, I know, but this has just popped into my Inbox:

Thought a wander to a con might help your headache recovery, if you now have any time with re-negotiating your work. Rats to 'heads', I say!
Take care

Huzzah! for having thrown off the headache and another resounding Yay! for the return of Poldark! *does happy dance*

Love your beautiful sky photos, especially the one with the Thin Red Line. I don't think I've ever seen a sky quite like that. Ta for sharing!

This week I've been vegging out with the DVDs of Versailles and loving every minute of it. Sooo good! :-)
