...these days off. *g* There was hoovering and mopping and shopping and...

...and it was good. I just need to get those curtains sorted... *g*

Oh - and I braved Victoria. I did want to slap Coleman in the credits, when she did her smirk-smug-little-smile thing, and through most of the first ep too, but I persevered as advised, and she was definitely less annoying in the second ep. Plue Rufus Sewell makes up for alot. *g* Thing is, I she can act other than I'm-pretty-and-smug-cos-I've-got-everything, we just need to see her doing it more. Cross fingers for the third episode, but for now - bed! And A Birdwatcher's Guide to Cornish Ghosts. Cos it's September-October, and in my head I've obviously signed up for the Readers Imbibing Peril, cos I've already read one book for it and I chose Birdwatcher's specifically for it. And it's clearly going to be on lj again, cos who am I kidding? So - a book post soon. *g*

I've got the RIP bookmarked, but I'm not sure how many parts of the challenge I'll be able to do. Once I get home I'll figure out if it's doable.

But, yuck, washing windows! *g*

I had to look at the categories again this morning to remember what they were - Mystery, Suspense, Thriller, Gothic, Horror and Dark Fantasy! And already I'm not entirely sure which category the book I just read falls into... it was a dark historical suspenseful mystery, which kind of makes it Gothic, depending on how you define Gothic, and... it was definitely Perilous though, so it definitely fits overall!

You could always start with Peril the Fourth, which is just one book, and work your way up to Peril the First if you read more... *g*

Luckily this was someone else washing my windows - I cheated and went to the car wash! I kind of wish they were hand-carwashes these days though, I always feel so guilty sitting safe and cosy inside while someone else does all the work! Though I do need to address my windows, now you mention it...!

Oh - and I braved Victoria.

You're braver than me... I have it all recorded but my dislike of JC is stopping me watching it. *Why* did they have to make a drama I'm really interested with *HER*. :-(

Hope you enjoy RIP. Just reading my second book for it, Sight Unseen by Robert Goddard. One of those books you just don't want to put down, it's so good. Love it when that happens because it's rare.

That's exactly what I thought, but she's not annoying me too much so far, and Rufus Sewell makes up for alot!

I've started my second RIP book, which means I really must sign up for it properly, and post about it! I'm way overdue a book post that now has far too many books in it, as well...

I like the sound of Sight Unseen - books that you can't put down are rather special, aren't they!

Glad you braved Victoria and that Jenna Coleman is, at least, bearable! As I said, I'm quite impressed with her. Looking forward to the next ep, although Poldark takes precedence because it's just... well, more Poldarkey :D

Yeay Poldark - definitely more Poldarky! *g* We'll have to disagree about JC - she's alot more bearable in Victoria, and I'm actually looking forward to the next ep to watch, but... Oh, she's a bit like Helena Bonham-Carter for me, I think - always so much more HBC than whatever character she's playing, like they have to fit her rather than her fitting the character, at least partly... But I watched Harry Potter anyway too, so... *g*

I hope you're enjoying your Days Off. It sounds like you're using them wisely, with an equitable split between chores and Pros-y goodness.

I did enjoy them, thank you! And now it's Sunday night, and everything is heading back to normal... *sighs* (though normal can be nice too - there's always Poldark tonight... *vbg*

I came home after two weeks away to find the boiler had packed up, so no heating and no hot water. I'd happily settle for a normal Sunday, but seemingly that's not an option this week. *sigh*

Still, Yay! for Poldark later! :-)

Oh noooo for the boiler packing in... I hope it gets fixed quickly (and easily and cheaply...) - and I hope Poldark at least took your mind off it...

lj didn't notify me the last days.... argh.

Wow, four days off, go you, that's fabulous. And cleaning and pottering, and reading, sounds perfect!

Oh no, argh indeed! But I didn't post over the last two days anyway, despite my best intentions, cos I had guests... So I must catch up today. And with other things!

Your days off sound like they were full of work - not your paid work, but work nonetheless. Were you tempted even just a little to take off outside somewhere for a day or so? Or was the weather not good?
