MountTBRchallengebannerI'm catching up on all sorts of things today - or at least that's the plan. Trouble is, one thing leads to another - I went to check whether my current R.I.P. challenge book was one I could use in my Mount To-Be-Read challenge, and couldn't find either thing. Which meant I was slightly confused, cos I thought I'd posted about this when I started it, but maybe I just did it via Goodreads or something. Anyway, for the sake of knowing where I'm up to (cos I'm further than I thought, though not much, cos I keep buying books)... I'm supposed to be reading 24 books from this challenge for 2016 - ack, I'm only up to...

1. Truckers by Terry Pratchett
2. The Humans by Matthew Haig
3. Fire from Heaven by Mary Renault
4. Savage Magic by by Lloyd Shepherd
5. The Raven's Head by Karen Maitland
6. Valentine Grey by Sandi Toksvig
7. Ways To Live Forever by Sally Nichols

Of course the real problem is that my books-to-read have actually expanded this year to take up another shelf, not one less... *headdesk*

Oh, I know the problem with to many books. I have at last 50 books minimum I wanted to read this year. But I was to busy with other things and I think I read only seven or eight. But I've read a lot of Pros! :-)

I try and don't buy books at the moment, but I find them in the open bookshelfs all over the town. So my mountain grows and grows. But I'm sure the winter will come and I can read (I hope). :-)

I can't believe I've actually ended up with more books to read rather than less - I'll have to make a better effort with this challenge, I think! Except I've got the book group book to read for Thursday, and a library book for the Thursday after, and... well, all the other books. *g* I'm impressed with your not buying books right now - my main problem is going into bookshops, because I always come out with something! Winter is good for books... *g*

See, I tell myself I'm on a moratorium and I'm not allowed to buy any more, but... somehow... Ah well, it's where the fun is too! *g*

It does seem to be the curse of the avid reader, to never be able to actually bring down the number of books you own? At least, not for very long. *g* I've done pretty well with reading, and then getting rid of, quite a few books through the Mount TBR challenge. Problem is, like you, I keep buying more!

I'm getting better about passing on books that I thought were okay, but will probably never read again, but if I like a story, then its useless - I want to keep it! I might read it again...!
