366 Photos - 281/366 - Saturday

Autumn's definitely here - I've put the heating on twice (the first time to check that it was still working, before it was really needed) and then it was too easy to put it on the next time I was cold... but that only happens when I'm sitting still - it's nowhere near heating time yet really! And I was nice and warm today, cos I spent the day going backwards and forwards around the house, and finally - re-hemming my new curtains!
I only got two out of the four done, because I had to work it all out, and I did it properly, with measuring all along, and chalking and pinning and all - the only thing I didn't do was iron the hems afterwards, cos I have an iron but not an ironing board, and they were too big for the space I've used on the (two) occasions I've ironed so far here. But yeay - curtains that fit, and don't sweep the dust off the floor!

And then I accidentally watched Caberet, which I could have sworn I'd seen before, and ended up getting quite hooked on it - it really is a very good film, and not at all what I'd been expecting! Come to think of it, mum never liked Liza Minelli, so I probably couldn't have seen it, growing up. Glad I had now, though. Except that now I'm very sleepy, cos it was the late night movie - and I'd meant to go to bed early!

Didn't get to write more Pros, after all that. But curtains! *g*

I saw Cabaret years and years ago. I agree, it is a very good movie. I'm not a huge fan of Minelli's, but since I watched it for Michael York, it was all good.

Hee - it's kind of fun, but time-consuming! A nice change from academic proofreading though - why won't people pay me for things I enjoy doing more....? *g*

And yes - Michael York! I kept forgetting it was him and just thinking he looks familiar! So young!

Curtains is good! Although they make my bedroom much darker, and I can't see the moon shining through any more, which I rather liked... oh well, I'll swap again in the summer! (Two-season curtains, hark at me! *g*)

The dark arts of curtains are a mystery to me. But I am endlessly impressed and envious of people to whom they aren't :D

I love Cabaret. Haven't seen it for ages, though, but now I want to!

I'm going for lack of curtains with this icon... *g* Which is what's still going on with two of my windows - they need the shiny new curtains! Hopefully this weekend. All I had to do was re-hem them, it's not like I actually made them or anything, so you probably shouldn't be too impressed... *g*

Oh, but - the weekend! It reminds me of watching Cabaret last weekend, which really was jolly good indeed! Must catch up on Victoria too - I'm two behind, now! Unless... no, it can't be three, can it? Eeep!
