In the only tree I can see from my windows...

...and detail. It looks more like a drawing than a photo - all I did was crop and then "autocorrect", and it gave me this effect! *g* I rather like the winteriness of it. Makes me want to snuggle up and think about the lads snuggling up... *g*

Looks very cold and wintery.

And reminds me of a poem by Josef Guggenmoos...
I can't remember all, but this is how it begins:

Ich male mir den Winter

Ich male ein Bild, ein schönes Bild,
ich male mir den Winter
Schwarz ist der Baum,
Weiß ist das Land
und grau ist der Himmel dahinter.

Sonst ist da nichts, da ist gar nichts mehr, da ist nichts mehr zu sehen.
Nur auf dem Baum, auf dem schwarzen Baum, da sitzen zwei schwarze Krähen.

.....
*gg*

Oh blimey, before coffee even..! Okay...

I paint the winter
I paint a picture, a beautiful picture,
I paint the winter
Black is the tree,
White is the land,
and grey is the sky behind it.

Otherwise it is night, there is nothing left, there is nothing left to be seen.
Just on the tree, on the black tree, there sit two black crows.

And some of that wasn't even google translate (though I confirmed with google translate *g*) Is that about right? I hope so, cos I really like that! Do the last two lines really run on like that, or are they usually divided into the phrases as above?

Love the idea of painting the winter... *g*

It's actually somewhat mild - 13C right now, and only 8.30am-ish. But grey, and there's been rain... No birds in the tree right now...

I am totally impressed!!

I would translate the heading as "I'm painting the winter for me"
Or would it be "I'm painting me the winter"?

The rest is perfect, go you!!

I'm not really sure how the last lines are. And there is more to the poem, I just couldn't remember more.... I'll look it up online.

Hmmmn - maybe I'm painting the winter myself" or "I'm painting the winter for myself"?

And yeay! Go me! *g* *wanders off to glance sleepily at the rest of the poem, and to decide to have a go at it tomorrow... *g* (But yeay that there is more!)

Here is the whole poem. I hope this is the way the author wrote it.
I thought I might remember two more words, but that might be just my imagination.

Ich male mir den Winter

Ich male ein Bild,
ein schönes Bild,
ich male mir den Winter.
Weiß ist das Land,
schwarz ist der Baum
grau ist der Himmel dahinter.

Sonst ist da nichts,
da ist nirgends was,
da ist weit und breit nichts zu sehen.
Nur auf dem Baum,
auf dem schwarzen Baum
hocken zwei schwarze Krähen.

Aber die Krähen,
was tun die zwei,
was tun die zwei auf den Zweigen?
Sie sitzen dort
und fliegen nicht fort.
Sie frieren nur und schweigen.

Wer mein Bild besieht,
wie’s da Winter ist,
wird den Winter durch und durch spüren.
Der zieht einen dicken Pullover an
vor lauter Zittern und Frieren.

Love these - especially the 2nd one. It does look like a drawing!

Thanks! I was really pleased with the way they came out, actually - just the mood of what I saw out my window! *g*
