Not entirely sure why, but it's been a bizarre few days. You know those days when you think you're going to get loads done, but everything ends up going around in circles, and you hardly get anything done at all, and then your electricity circuit trips and then you lose a filling? Three of those days... only the electricity and the tooth things happened just this evening. *headdesk* Well at least I can catch up my photos - there's less than a month of them left!

Thursday's picture was a desperate moment coming on to midnight when I realised I hadn't taken one...

...and then yesterday's was a determination (as I came back from a supermarket again) to make an effort!

Today I was determined to do two things - wrap up presents to send overseas, and nip out to visit the quilting exhibition I'd nearly forgotten was on. The theme was myth and mystery, which of course is just my sort of thing. And pretty mythty and mysterious it was on the drive over, too - and back. *g*

And then I was driving through the village, and everything was twinkling lights again!

Shall post about the exhibition tomorrow, and behind a friends-lock - the quilt squares were fab! And I only bought a couple of bits of fabric... *g* I shall also catch up on comments and emails and story recs and all, cos yeay!

Mythty?

No hope - I put it down to Christmas cracker season!

But mythty and mysterious aside, they are lovely wintery, solstice-y type pics. Just right for a visiting headless horseman...I wonder if there's a Pros-y Ichabod-y type fic out there?

Well there was [livejournal.com profile] msmoat's Horseman fic for her Discovered in the Fallen Leaves Halloween prompt Headless horseman. *g* Although she went in a slightly less literal description. *g*

It was a fab drive - I couldn't resist getting the camera out!

An entertainingly lateral direction though :0)

And happily, I'm not totally unfamiliar with MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod, so the cross-over-y bit sort of made sense.

Thanks for a cheeky rec to start my day!

Lol--personally, I enjoy seeing the glimpse of your lounge with the Bodie and Doyle plate (clock?) and something Star Wars-y in the crate.

Yes - isn't that intriguing?

The clock's fab, isn't it - believe it or not, it was a Pros FandomCard gift one year! *vbg* And the Star Wars is stickers for when I send my nephew letters and so on, but I don't at all mind... I keep thinking Episode VIII is going to be out this Christmas though... :(

Oh, how wretched about the electricity and the filling. You poor thing. I do hope you're able to get both sorted quickly.

Those middle photos are very mythy and mysterious! I'm very much looking forward to your post about the quilting exhibition. :-)

I don't know why I so often seem to end up having some sort of dental issue in December - gargh! And the out-of-hours dental service seems to consist of go-to-A&E or wait until your dentist opens on Monday! Which is exactly the situation predicted years ago who when Thatcher decided to allow the privatisation of dental treatment - hard to find an NHS dentist to start with (cos they all want to earn more money going private) and the dental service cut right back so you can only afford to be pain-free and worry-free if you have lots of money to start with. Gargh!! (Ooh look, a pre-coffee rant! *g*)

The mythterious road was fab yesterday. On the other hand, it was nice to see some clear sky when I got up today!

Great mystery photos, especially the one with the tree. And I really love the "desperate" picture. ;-)

Thank you! Winter trees are a favourite thing of mine, especially if there's snow or fog! I must admit to desperately hoping that a glimpse of the lads around might make a dull picture more interesting for my flist... *g*

Love the scenery pics, though I'm not sure I would have cared to be driving in such weather, much less taking pictures! The black and white ones, especially, give a feeling of mystery and maybe even a little spookiness.

Thank you! The black and white ones, of course, weren't black and white at all - I took them in colour, it's just that the world was black and white at that moment! *g* I was very careful, and would never have done it if the conditions were bad. The lights in the last pic were actually quite far away!

The trees beckoning through the mist are utterly enchanting! And I love the desperation shot.

The beckoning trees were amazing - though slightly scary when you describe them like that! *g*
