Aaaargh! Anyone out there?

Naturally, when I finally had some time to read my flist and think about replying to comments, I'm having major lj-issues!

I can't seem to access other people's ljs to leave comments - is anyone else having that problem? I'm getting:

This site can’t be reached
the-safehouse.livejournal.com unexpectedly closed the connection.
Try:

Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
Running Windows Network Diagnostics
ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED

It's not happening on every lj/post that I try to access, but on various people's ljs and communities. I can't get to, for instance, sc_fossil, mab_browne, moth2fic, thesmallhobbit, or The Safehouse (and it won't accept its lj-comm code). But I can get to sw33n3y, ariss_tenoh, unbelievable2, and Discoveredinalj - but like Safehouse, I can't code its lj name here, it gives me an error and then vanishes when I come to edit/correct). It seems madly random, unless it's to do with a particular server that some people are on but not others.

Naturally, I now have to go back to work - is anyone else having this problem? Or, if you can't access this to reply to me, could you please drop me an email?!

I can see you from a distance (my flist page), I just can't get to you... You are apparently unexpectedly closing the connection before I've even got there! I'll keep trying...

I've just looked up the LJ troubleshooting page, and it's showing all the html mark up codes, which doesn't inspire confidence ...

I'm hoping it's all just a glitch as they work on code in the various servers. I seem to be on a different server to most of my flist, because I've often never seen issues that they say they've seen/are having, and very occasionally, like now, I have issues that no one else on my flist seems to have! I did go to the support page to see whether anyone had a similar problem and asked about it, but nothing. If you're seeing a glitch of some kind now, though, maybe that's indicative that they're working on something...

Argh, how weird - no I haven't noticed any issues (touch wood), but then I haven't been about much, just the odd comment here and there. Looks like I can reply to you, at least, depending on what happens when click .... ::prepares to click:: ...now.

Yeay for successful clicks! I'm hoping it's just one of those things where I'm on a different server to most of my flist, and lj is working on code or something, which is causing a glitch... I can get to your lj, and into your comments too - so if you ever made a post then I could reply... *vbg*

I know the LJ accounts are set up across different servers. Sometimes when things like this happen, there's something going on with one set of servers that isn't affecting the others. (They should be able to mirror on other servers, but who knows how they're set up in-house.)

I can see you here, but I can't get to your lj! Hopefully it's just a temporary glitch... And yeah, it might well be that they're doing work on the code, and my server has just been hit first. I often see other people talking about issues that I've not experienced or even seen elsewhere, so the opposite must be true sometimes too. I wish I could get to the_safehouse though!

I haven't been having any assess problems that I know of, but haven't had a lot of time online for several days, either. Cowley gives you a duck to cheer you up.

Maybe it is a browser problem. I'm sticking to Chrome at the moment, because other browsers wouldn't allow to comment.

Unfortunately it's a problem in all three browsers that I've tried. Gaargh! I use Chrome for lj usually, and it's always been fine. I'm hoping it's just cos I'm on a different server, and lj is working on code or something... *crosses fingers* I can see your lj - and I could even comment on it if you posted something... *vbg*

Everything else seems to be fine - my internet gets me to anything else I need. But the lj issue is cropping up in three different browsers, so I think it's lj itself. Hopefully they're just working on code, in my server, and it will fix itself...! Thanks for the wave!

I know that someone tried to post to my Sentinel site a few weeks back and had issues, so presumably it's a glitch that pops up site-wide now and again. They did eventually regain access, so hopefully the same will apply for you.

I'm pretty sure you had my email in the mists of time, but it's mabinbrowne at gmail dot com if you've since lost it.

Ah, so hopefully it's not just me, but also not a big major issue - thanks for letting me know!
