I managed to get out in the morning, to my nephew's sport's day. Remember those...?!

And I can never remember what this kind of tree is. There's lots of them in London, and they have these fab winter-Christmas-baubles all through winter... does anyone know?

I could feel a cold coming on - inevitable really, since my sister, who I'm staying with, had one last week. I was alright out in the fresh air, but I went from there to the health food shop for some raw honey (which I hear is even more soothing than Strepsils and the like when you have a cold), managed to cancel my work for two days, have soup and ice cream for dinner, stay up until about 9.30pm, and then that was it. I took my aching bones to bed - blargh!

That's a plane tree: platanus x hispanica, to be botanically precise.

I hope you feel better soon. It's especially miserable being sick when you're away from the comforts of home.

Thank you! And that was my first thought, but for some reason I pooh-poohed it, so I feel more pleased with myself now too. *g*

And thank you! I was only out of energy for about 36 hours, thank goodness - and even the other cold-y bits are mostly gone now, so phew!

Thank you! The complete lack of energy lasted about 36 hours, and I could almost feel the moment (in the middle of the night!) when I felt more energetic again. Strange, and also a definite relief! *g*
