I got my energy back! I was able to go to the fair! Hooray! *g*

It started with a parade (these guys are from my nephew's primary school, although he was marching with his soccer team instead). They're all bees! How cute is that! *g*

Then there was fair food. Mini pancakes, with butter and lemon and maple syrup!

Fairy floss was never blue in my day - but it seemed like the only fresh fairy floss around, so we tried it. It actually tasted of something (though not fairy floss like I remember) and it melted in your mouth, and it turned you entirely blue. Okay, it might just have felt like entirely, but I kept wanting to check my face for blue-ness for hours after. *g*

Traditional fair events - the woodchopping competition, and pole-vaulting!!

The Australian champion wood chopper was there later in the day, and having given the others a 28 second lead, he still beat everyone!

We had a break for a few hours (well, I took mum out for a drive into the hills, cos it was a gorgeous day), and then we went for an Indian and came back in time to see the torchlight parade (the emergency services) and then the fireworks!

So all in all, it was rather a nice day to make up for Friday's rough one!

Hi, it's Josey. Long time no chat. Sorry, I lost your email addy so this is the only way I could think of to give you a heads-up. My hosting service has decided to quintuple their fees as of 1st October so I'm shifting providers. I'm also not bothering with a website any longer, which means you're going to need to find alternative hosting for your site, if it's still going. Sorry for not giving you longer notice, but it kinda crept up on me. You should have all the permissions you need to migrate your data, but if you need anything else, just ping me. josey at emptymirrors . gmail . com

Looks like an absolutely wonderful day! Is there any difference between fairy floss and cotton candy? If so, maybe that's what it tasted like, because I remember cotton candy coming in all sorts of colors.

And fireworks! What a great way to end the day.

Great pictures and I love the kids as bees. But when I look at the picture with the wood choppers standing on the wood runs a shiver down my spin. What when they miss and hit their leg instead. Scary.

Oh, and fireworks. I love fireworks but this year they had to cancel our fairy firework because it was to dry after the hot summer.

The fair looks like it was lots of fun, thanks for sharing it. Glad you got to go. My sister and I are a lot more uncouth, in the US it's cotton candy but we just call it dye because it's pretty much just sugar and colored dye. We still eat it though.
