I got my energy back! I was able to go to the fair! Hooray! *g*
It started with a parade (these guys are from my nephew's primary school, although he was marching with his soccer team instead). They're all bees! How cute is that! *g*
Then there was fair food. Mini pancakes, with butter and lemon and maple syrup!

Fairy floss was never blue in my day - but it seemed like the only fresh fairy floss around, so we tried it. It actually tasted of something (though not fairy floss like I remember) and it melted in your mouth, and it turned you entirely blue. Okay, it might just have felt like entirely, but I kept wanting to check my face for blue-ness for hours after. *g*
Traditional fair events - the woodchopping competition, and pole-vaulting!!

The Australian champion wood chopper was there later in the day, and having given the others a 28 second lead, he still beat everyone!
We had a break for a few hours (well, I took mum out for a drive into the hills, cos it was a gorgeous day), and then we went for an Indian and came back in time to see the torchlight parade (the emergency services) and then the fireworks!

So all in all, it was rather a nice day to make up for Friday's rough one!

Date: Sunday, 30 September 2018 09:24 am (UTC)Well, I knew it would happen one day, but actually I've not had web software since I had to change my laptop last time, and that was back in 2013 or so, so although I've used it to find info, I've not been able to update it anyway... I was thinking about moving it to lj as some kind of comm, so maybe this'll be a prompt. Thanks for hosting it for all those years!
Hope your world is going okay.

Date: Thursday, 13 September 2018 09:23 pm (UTC)Oh, and fireworks. I love fireworks but this year they had to cancel our fairy firework because it was to dry after the hot summer.
