Photo Advent - 14th December 2018

Well, it's my last day here in my current-temporary-house, before I move a few streets down to my own wee place at last. I think it's taken me a few days after the whole whirlwind of yes-no-yes before I could start getting excited, but I think I finally am... *g* Moving house tomorrow! (Honestly, how many times have I said that over the last two years...) Let's see if this time can be for a bit longer... *g*

Here's current views from my office - the window behind me (it's all single-glazing, and I'm huddled up in scarf and blanket, even though the heating's theoretically on!), and the view from my office (i.e. where I'm huddled *g*) Even though the new place is rather worryingly all electric, and all free-standing heaters, I'm hopeful that it might actually be a bit warmer!

PS - I thought it was fixed, but I can't get into some people's journals again - waaah! And I remembered at last that the exact same thing happened earlier this year, in January (and the exact same journals too, which makes me think it's definitely server-based.)

So - msmoat - yerch for Tumblr porn when you don't want it! I must admit I've not seen ads on lj for years, cos I got a paid account for just that reason, but I'd hate to think of it being cluttered up with muck like that (and as you know, I'm not against porn per se - but it should be a choice to read/see it, not via advertising!) It's definitely things like that which keep me hugging lj close, and glaring at various other forums...

Hope your move goes smoothly and that the new places is a bit warmer. For me there is nothing more uncomfortable than being cold!

Yay for the move, and hopefully being warm! Has the new place got double-glazing? I guess it must, from what you say? Also, emphatically seconding everything you said about tumblr porn bots. I just commented on msmoat's post a moment ago, in fact (" I despise the double-standard current in media, that it's perfectly fine to use women as a commodity in order to sell crap but not for women to pipe up themselves, much less express something sexual. I hope this whole move ends up biting them on the arse so hard they get ground into mincemeat.") It royally pisses me off that they're only taking action because advertising revenue, and that they can't be bothered to actually work at it so as to remove commercial porn without taking a sledgehammer to people's blogs.

Huh about not being able to get into some people's LJ's, including mine. But yes about ads! Tumblr doesn't have a paid account version, I don't think. Hmm. Actually, I don't know, but since I rarely go on it, it's not worth it to me. I was just struck by the hypocrisy--which is nothing new. *g*
