I am trying to post my Dec 26 story to discoveredinalj but it tells me that I'm not a member of the group and that it's closed to new membership. How may I post my story?

Hi - that's weird. You do have to be a member to post (I guess I just figured you already were), but the comm is definitely not closed to new members! I shall go and investigate...

I've just added you via the membership list, with posting access — not sure if you actually have to accept the invitation or not, but hopefully it's in your inbox I think you have to accept the invitation, but it's definitely been sent to you!
