Most definitely the saddest fic I have read since I started this: Never Say Goodbye by Castalia, just posted by Proslib. Its on Circuit too. Beautifully, beautifully written. And there are alot of heart-wrenching fics out there - see recent Safehouse, for example!
*pause to Circuit*
Well, thank goodness for Night Talk also by Castalia, also on Circuit. Feel much better now.
Pretty poor rec I know, but I must go and read some more... I'm convalescing, ya understand... ; )

Date: Thursday, 13 October 2005 11:45 pm (UTC)ooh yes, I've just started the snowman in the dark coat and realised that I've read and loved it before too. Another great rec, thank you! And Sentinels too. She's got a great range, this Castalia. I don't know why I should have been surprised, but I'm ever so impressed by the quality of writing here in ficworld...

Hope you're feeling better soon.

> Well I'm a bit pissed off...I've written two replies to you, one containing the long story by Meg Lewtan and they haven't gone through. Floating around somewhere in Alaskan cyberspace corrupting some poor Inuit, I'll bet. Not sure what to do now as my technical skills are pretty limited...

***Yes, I couldn't agree more. Started to read some
commercial fiction recently and it wasn't half as good
as some Pros writing. The really amazing thing about
Castalia is that I don't think English is her first
language. I think I read somewhere that she was
originally Italian (though I suppose you can't change
that fact). Think I'm right.

Stay warm! (Still can't quite see the connection
between an Australian/Brit being in Alaska, apart from
the letter 'A'). cheers, pb

Thanks for trying to send the story. If I see anyone looking all dazed and talking in an english accent (apart from me, obviously) I'll head them off... I have responded to your other comment, if you want to try alternate means...!
Even more impressed if Castalia is not English herself. Especially with the mangle we make of the language ourselves sometimes - yes, yes, me very definitely included! Although, maybe after all that's half the fun of language. B and D wouldn't be half so adorable and all if they kept all their aitches in place...

Hah! Not sure there really is one, in anything but the most obscure kind of way... But me Mum was Manx, me Dad South African, and I always always wanted to see the northern lights : )

Manx mum? Isle of Man? Norman Wisdom? That explains aunty+wellies+martin shaw. I do like to have puzzles solved. pb
