Saturday morning blithering

'tis s a lovely looking day outside, all blue skies and buds on the trees, but I seem to be having a hard time getting going, so I thought I'd have a ramble and see if that helped... *g*
You know those mornings when you just don't know where to start? And the bits that you do start sort of make you blink? Well I was very good, and when I was woken by five year old wailing (she's five for gods' sake, but she insists on wailing when she wakes up in the morning - not a sunny nature before ten, that one!) I looked out the window at the gorgeous frosty morning and decided I would go for a walk. Be all peaceful, get the woken-by-wailing grump out of my system. Except that I got to the bottom of the hill, and was suddenly assailed by the sound of children shouting, and mother shouting and gawd knows what from the big house up there. If I carried on walking ahead I'd be listening to that for 20 minutes, if I took the footpath to the right I'd still be hearing it for quite some time - the only way to avoid the shrieks of other people's children was to go back. So I did. I was a good quarter of a mile away from that house, by the way - and there was nowhere else it could have been coming from! And it was only just after seven in the morning! Buggers.
So then I was wandering around lj, catching up on threads I'd been chatting in, working up the energy to think of things decently enough to converse with other people (I know, I don't usually let that stop me... *g*) when I came across this beside one of my contributions:
Icon hijack! I want my B/D in leather jackets back, but as it's hijacked on my userpic page too, I suspect I will have to fix that myself. Buggers!
Aaaand... stuff. So I have to go to the post office, and transcribe from a dvd (old play performed in Manchester in the 70s, very cool and quite good for Pros-y research in fact - remember the attitudes - but very time consuming! It takes about an hour to transcribe six minutes of film!) And I should tidy, and I should take advantage of the day and go find somewhere quiet to walk! (Or at least interesting... *g*) Aaaand... stuff. Oh, and I totally have to post about
loiteringpalely and the whole zine thing, because I've not done that yet... and I have betas to do... I need some energy back, some motivation to get on with it! Where does that come from, again?
On the bright side, I've already opened me Comic Relief fic, to carry on from where I left off yesterday (I actually have been doing it!) Now I just have to work up the energy to get involved in it... and everything else. Help! Someone kick me!

Date: Saturday, 21 March 2009 10:21 am (UTC)And thank you for listening to my ramble... it must have helped actually, cos I just finished the next part of my Comic Relief Pros fic and posted it, so I have done something useful now, and completed it - yeay!
Ha - the replacement icon reminds me that I really must buy better bras! *g*

Date: Saturday, 21 March 2009 11:24 am (UTC)Actually, I did! Finished and posted the next section of me wee fic, have just had a cherry almond roll with Larton, and am feeling all satisfied with myself and the morning now. Off to shower and pop to the PO, and then I will no doubt come home do something else wildly constructive...
It's great how good it feels to finish bits of writing, isn't it? Wish I could do that all the time... *sighs happily and wanders showerward*

Date: Saturday, 21 March 2009 11:47 am (UTC)But Ack! How dare anyone mess with our B&D icons! That's like... sacrilege or something. *g*

I've woken up a bit now and noticed the punctuation, just ignore my earlier comment! *g*
Enjoy your day and the weather!

Date: Saturday, 21 March 2009 05:28 pm (UTC)It is sacrilege to mess with B/D icons though, isn't it!
So far so good - had a drive around to see how Spring was coming along, and it's on its way... only model planes over at Old Warden though... *g* Missed the post office though. Bum!

Date: Saturday, 21 March 2009 12:10 pm (UTC)Isn't that awful when you're all set for a peaceful walk and then it's ruined by other people? That happens to me on both my runs and my walks with the dogs, sometimes. I know it's not deliberate, but...I like the peace and quiet and solitude. Hence the getting up at 6 in the morning (or earlier) to get out. Any...minute...now....
