Today is a day of two parts...

...on the one hand, I'm quite chuffed with myself for having written two Pros stories so far this year, even if they are only ficlets of things, and even if I do need to finish my NaNoWriMo story, amongst other things.

...on the other hand, it's actually quite rare that I'm properly cross out loud at people, but I was just now very cross indeed to new-new office mate... eep! I was talking with Boss, here in my office, when n-n-o-m came in, and she saw Boss and just completely began speaking to her, despite the fact that Boss was not only in the middle of a conversation, but the middle of a sentence to me. Boss, of course, cheerfully turned to her and replied before leaving, and I'm afraid I just could not smile in a friendly manner when n-n-o-m said something completely random to me. I'm just as peeved with Boss, but I expect that kind of behaviour from her - I just can't get over how many people seem to think it's okay to walk into a room and make everything all about them without even assessing what's already going on...

Both of which things mean - let's have some more lads...

Well, the pics of the lads have certainly made my day a whole lot better, thank you! I hope it's worked for you too - your work mate/boss sound exasperating. It's the same when you're talking to somebody in a work situation, and the phone goes, and they stop talking to you to answer the phone, and then have a ten minute conversation - grrrrr!

Pics of the lads help alot...

Phones can be terrible things too - as Stephen Fry once said, when a phone goes off it's like something jumping up and down and shouting loudly talk-to-me-now-talk-to-me-now!... Gargh!

People can be very rude, and yet I bet if you pointed out to either of them that what they had done was rude they would be baffled. It's disrespectful.

Yay for pics, and yay for fic!

Yeay pic and fic!

I did point it out to n-n-o-m, and she was apologetic, but I suspect somewhat baffled... I don't know - I'm just more and more flabbergasted by how many people are so unaware of anyone except themselves... I mean, we all do that now and then, float around in our own little world, but some people seem to do it all the time and I do wonder how they actually physically survive the world... hmmn - maybe it's evolution's way of trying to control the population, it's just that the mutation hasn't quite kicked in hard enough yet... *g*

oooo luvverly pics!! do I detect a theme - lads together, all slouchy and comfortable together.

I had the opposite experience recently - was at parent-teacher meeting with Hugh (in the daytime) and the teacher told us to go and find Mr P and he would give us the relevant piece of paper about GCSE options... So we trundled down to Mr P's room which rather alarmingly said 'Deputy Head' on the door. He called 'come in', so we did, but he was in a meeting with a person who was presumably Busy and had stuff to get on with, but he insisted on talking to us about these flippin' options, and I was wishing he wouldn't because he was wasting his guest's valuable time, she must have had an appointment and we didn't...

Hmmn - maybe he knew the person wasn't really Busy and Had Stuff to Get on With...? You'd hope so, anyway! Though you'd think he'd have enough social sensitivity to know that it needed explaining lest it make his new guests uncomfortable... I dunno - people! *g*

That is so very rude! What is with people these days? Don't they know you're supposed to wait until the other person has stopped speaking before you begin or at least say 'excuse me' if it's something urgent? I can't blame you for being annoyed I would be too. :/

But on a better note, Yay for pics of our lads and for Pros-y fic! :D \o/

People baffle me, they really do - they seem so unaware of even the need for social conventions, let alone what they might be!

But yeay better notes - there need to be many better notes in my flist! *g*

Don't get me started on people in the workplace :( The only bright spot is that we don't have to put up with that kind of behaviour outside it.
