...even if the boiler did go out again, for no apparent reason! (Hmmn, 3 cursed steps, 2 dead birds, 1 recalcitrant boiler... perhaps this particular run of luck might be finished now? *g*) My ankle is mostly better, and my knee is feeling better too, though still a bit hot - I might even brave it to drive on tomorrow, presuming we're not stormed out of existence. It's been so nice today!

Oh no, there was one more thing - I forgot. I don't think it's quite bad enough to count in the Run of Unlucky Things, but - here are the scented candles that I had to light toot-sweet when I realised that I'd left my back door wide open - on the day that the farmer was slurrying the closest field.... *headdesk*

Still, pretty candles...

And I wrote Pros fic! I wrote Pros! I wrote! So, quite a nice day, really... *vbg*

I sometimes get essence du pig-farm - but I happen to like the smell. It's not too strong by the time it wafts my way :0)

I'm glad your battered leg is feeling better - it sounded quite gruesome.

I did wonder if the birds could have been electrocuted - small birds rarely are because they are usually too small to make a contact with anything the electricity could flow to. It just kind of ignores them. It does seem odd that they dropped simultaneously, as it appears they did. Where's Jonathan Creek when you need him :0)

We've had a few days of the slurrying by now - chappy seems to have alot of fields around us! - and I thought I'd shut the door when I came in, cos I always do - but actually I forgot it was landlord who came in that way last, for the boiler, and then I didn't go back down, and just though it was getting cooler and that the slurry must be really potent to be penetrating my closed windows... *headdesk* Oh well, hey-ho!

My knee is still pretty crunchy - and actually I should have done more ice this evening, cos it's a bit more sore again tonight... then again I tend to rush back-to-normal when I'm close, so it might just be that, I've been standing on it again today, and walking a bit more...

Electrocution's a good idea - except that there's not anything for them to have been electrocuted on, where they were! Not a single wire outside my building... invisible force-field, maybe... *g* And ha - yes, it is rather Jonathan Creek!

Stunning photos of the sunset! The colours are just beautiful.

Ah yes, the joys of living in a rural community at muck-spreading time... We have that here too and the scent really hangs in the air. Thank goodness you had those candles! :-)

It was a rather nice sunset - I knew that would be my photo as soon as I saw the tinge to the sky behind the stables! *g* The reason has become clear though, I've woken up to rain and wind, the promised "storm" (not very stormy here so far, just rain and wind...)

I'm just cross with myself about the muck-spreading - you get used to it outside, but I'd managed to keep inside nice and sweet-smelling until I left that door open! Plus it got chilly, and I had to put the heating on... *headdesk*

When I've made the same mistake, I usually grab the Glade 'One Touch' minispray from the downstairs loo and wander around the house with it, squirting liberally. It's very effective (and I do so love the smell of lemons.)

Yeah, I have some room spray that I use too - orange blossom, and a lavender one too - but I try not to use it too often. I'd rather not be breathing in too many chemicals! The candles presumably release them too, but they don't seem as bad, somehow!

Such lovely photos! Don't you just love sunsets? (I'm assuming you weren't up at sunrise.*g*)

Glad to hear your ankle and knee are doing better. That's always scary, wondering what body part has decided to break down now.

And yea for writing Pros fic! I'm looking forward to reading it. :-)

I do love sunsets! And sunrises, but they do get earlier and earlier at this time of year - and I have to walk even further to see them. *g*
