Hello - are you bored with seeing these pop up yet? Ah well, here's another one anyway... The lads are lurking in my head too - I think I've decided on my story for the big bang. And I've re-read Forever True and The Assassin's Daughter so far for my holiday reading. I adore Forever True, even though if you told me the plot I'd say no-no-no!
Good morning, beach in Wales...

Leaving Wales (via Snowdonia)... and back in England (hello, Shropshire).

Of chestnut candles and dark, walking woods!

Blist's Hill Victorian Town, Ironbridge Gorge. The intro vid was beautifully done, and I rather wanted to buy a copy, but sadly it wasn't on dvd - the first pic is just a quick glimpse.

All in all, a good afternoon's wanderings! It's funny how familiar the Victorian houses and rooms and paraphernalia feel too - maybe some previous life... *g*
Walk back to the YHA, along lovely green paths. Loved the determination of this dandelion.

And just green, green, green!
The YHA - tonight's home.

And the view up the canal.
And back down again...

The scenery's changed a bit from Neolithic tombs and Medieval castles - we've skipped five hundred years or so, and now it's all go-industrial-revolution-go!
Then a lazy night in a room of my own - in preparation for three nights in a dorm, in Manchester... I'm not entirely sure this bit is going to feel like a holiday - Manchester's changed alot since I lived there, and I don't know it any more. I also suspect there'll be a lot of hanging around waiting for brother and co. and trying not to feel frustrated... oh well - maybe the YHA will be in a more comfortable spot that I'm imagining, and I'll manage to visit cool places. Also, tomorrow is Jodrell Bank! Yeay! *g*

Date: Monday, 23 May 2016 07:01 pm (UTC)The woods were beautiful - just the walk from the car park to Blists Hill, too! The pigs certainly live there, and I presume that there are people living on site (or else very near it, just for management sake)... It was fun to visit, definitely, though I always wish these places sold fiction books set in the time period too.!
