Have I mentioned lately how much I adore this story? Doesn't matter when I read it, it leaves me all warm and happy for the lads at the end... *is fuzzy*

It's found in lots of places, and all those other people have said fab things about it too, in case there's anyone out there who's not read it yet...

*sighs happily yet again*

New Prosfic at [livejournal.com profile] the_safehouse, and one of the best I've read recently too. It was lovely, and hot and fab and ace. And thoughtful and fresh. I quite liked it... *g*

Betty Knows Best by [livejournal.com profile] jojosimco.

Just - yes! Hurrah for gorgeous B/D in my flist! *vbg* (And happy International Women's Day everyone!)

By all rights, I should really dislike this series, and I definitely winced more reading this time than I ever have done before, but... there's still something about it that grabs me... something to do with the poetry of the writing, perhaps, the lovely lyrical, slightly melancholic feel to it - this is writing that makes you feel every breath the characters take, deep in their hearts...

It's made up of four parts: Siren by Sebastian, Bound to the Mast by Sebastian, Going for the Shore Part I and Going for the Shore Part II, both by Sebastian, and then Freezing by Helen Raven.

Actually I'm intrigued to see that Hatstand lists GftS II as "unfinished", and it's certainly got that feel to the final sentence - and is perhaps why the final part is by Helen Raven instead - does anyone know the story behind this?

Anyway, I do rather love these stories... )

Today is grey and today is blargh, although it's not as blargh as yesterday was - for no apparent reason yesterday was the epitome of blargh, and actually everyone I spoke to said that they'd had a lousy day too, except for a 6 year old who'd had a great time. Today so far is better, but...

I don't suppose you'd help me make it properly better? Sort of kick-start the way to a good weekend, maybe? By posting something Pros-y in your own ljs, so my flist becomes all gloriously Pros-y, which is always happy-making?

For example...

...the lads interrupted - a pic from our gorgeous Lorraine Brevig (up at the Circuit, so presumably it's fine to copy over to here - let me know if not! I was going to put the other Circuit one up too, but it's not work safe... *g*)...and from our gorgeous Crimson, from the 2007 Dialj Christmas Special... *sighs for happy lads*...

Anyone else...? Fave pics, or zines or icons or... oh, anything Pros-y, really... Please? Make blarghy days better? *g*

My lj looks bizarrely TW-ish for someone who's just reading it on the side - I really need to post more and bigger Pros here... I've been posting it to the comms, and now my poor lj is practically bare!

That said - having read fab halloween fic at [livejournal.com profile] discoveredinalj (Oh, This is Halloween by [livejournal.com profile] magenta_blue, and In the Widening Gyre by [livejournal.com profile] loyseofverlaine especially!) I've moved on to reading fab halloween fic via [livejournal.com profile] torchwood_house, and I found a new fic to rec!

All in A Day's Work by [livejournal.com profile] riverlight - loved it! The cutest zombies ever, and a gorgeously written team...

Towels

Now that'll set you up nicely for the day... I think it might be time to re-read more of her fic... *sighs happily*

I've just re-read Witchery: A Tale of the Carbon Wars by Verlaine, and remembered how much I loved it first time around! Science Fiction AU Prosfic! Wheee! What a fab world Verlaine has built, and just see our lads, with Cowley and especially with each other! They're just so our lads, and... just... awwwww!

I want more of this world! Pleeeeease?!

Has anyone else read it? Did anyone else love it?

I'm supposed to be writing, and I'm supposed to be posting pics of Norfolk, and I'm supposed to be loiteringpalely, and palelyloitering, and doing all sorts of things, but I wasn't because I was totally

reading Miles Scortillusque by Sineala

And I liked it alot! Do go and read it if you haven't already, it's great! And it's long, and it's a historical AU, and... oh, and Bodie's a Roman citizen, and Doyle works in a brothel, and isn't that just another bulletproof kink of mine, right there? Weird, isn't it? Wonder where it all comes from... Well, maybe I won't wonder too hard... *g*

Oh, but do go and read it! And please don't tell the author that I changed the names back to Bodie and Doyle for my print copy... they were Roman in my head, where it's important...

Older Lads fic list

So yesterday I had a bit of a sulk at life in general, and lots of fab people gave me recs for older lads fic, and...

...and today I've made a list out of it all, with links, partly to say thank you to everyone and partly because yeay, older lads fic... *g* I didn't get to read all of them, but I read 198 pages worth and it was bliss and a much nicer way to spend the evening than anything else I might have sulked around! *g*

I think I'm actually going to start posting these lists at palelyloitering too - I hadn't planned to, cos it seemed silly to double up on what was already at Hatstand, but actually some of them are different, and this way I can update them when I find more fics and more recs, and... Dunno - what d'you think? I actually made a start before work this morning, and I think it'll fit in well... and actually even if no one else ever looks at them, I will, so perhaps I'll just shut up and get on with it... *g*

In the meantime - Older Lads fics here! )

Yeay for bank holiday weekends, and roaming internet at Starbucks (tho' we won't talk about the price of that...) and oh... stuff. And having paid for it, I'd best use it to ramble and witter out loud, hadn't I?

The rambling and the wittering and the oh my - please help with that bit! )
