So... new year, new attempt to find something cheerful in the world! There are lots of things out there, it's not all people being horrible to each other and the general drudgery of meaningless work simply to be able to pay the people who are being horrible... and having had a bit of a low day, despite some fab things in the couple of days before, I thought that maybe some sunshine-yellow posting was in order. One hundred days of it. *g*

But I'm going to start off with something on lj that is amazing me by having had only one comment - from me - even though it seemed to be an inordinately wonderful thing. Is no one reading our Pros comms any more?! tinturtle posted a Pros slash vid to the_safehouse this morning, that has cheered me up every time I watched it today. It's my favourite kind - matching the song to the clips so that it tells its own story, and I think it's really nicely done - it's got fab timing, and the lads are so clearly in love. *g* I'm going to embed it here, because it's on YouTube and I can, but I would strongly recommend going to her own post here not only because you can tell her how fab it is, but also because she's provided download links for it as well as the YouTube link. We can keep it for our very own, and not lose it should disaster strike and it vanish from being online! Hurrah! *g*

Okay, I'm feeling better again already. *g* Now please go and comment to this new Pros vidder, because she's doing a brilliant job, and I personally would like her to keep making Pros vids! (Not to mention that she's also the person who put together the amazing list of all Pros vids on YouTube!.

This icon breaks my heart a little bit every time I see it - the idea of our lads without each other... but I adore it for the depth of that very feeling, and how it reinforces that our lads are so right together. It's another icon by the fab crimson_37 - she so often went straight to the heart of it...



It also reminds me of two vids by recycledmedia. The first one I saw was this one:

I'm not usually convinced by pairing our lads with country music, and oddly enough my older lads aren't older-MS or older-LC (Doyle will always have curly hair, for a start... *g*) but I do think both these vids work.

Thursday 25th August - a misty evening... ...and the nights really are drawing in! It's been months and months since I saw the lights on in the stables!

Oh, le weekend! *hugs it* It's been a stoopid headache of a week, with much dull work to compound the issue, but you have no idea how unbelievably disciplined I was today in order to catch up and get it done! I deserve much lads, I really do. *g*

What I did do was watch the last ep of Fleabag (so good) and then randomly Burke and Hare (well not totally random, I've got a bit of a 19th century thing at the moment). But Ronnie Corbett! I spent half the film going that IS Ronnie Corbett, and then the other half thinking of all the people who'd died this year, cos... just... Ronnie Corbett too. And I keep forgetting about Alan Rickman, and Terry Wogan, and Victoria Wood, and Caroline Aherne, and Paul Daniels, and Gareth Thomas, never mind Bowie and Prince and Harper Lee and Umberto Eco... never mind our lovely Pros-y people over the last year or two...

Okay, which isn't where I was going with this post, I was going lads for the weekend... Okay, a combination - I wish I could embed it, but it's not up anywhere except at the Circuit Archive - Lithium Doll's Fields of Marigold, another favourite Pros vid of mine...

I am immersing myself in Pros today (in between work and marking and watching the first half of the Due South pilot just for the sight of snoooooooow).

I started off by re-reading some Brenda K who is fab...

...and now I've finished by watching the new Pros Vid from hisluvpet (Bistokidsfan, of my favourite Daring the Sea and Careful Cultivation) - All Together Now, which just made me smile and laugh and be happy - definitely worth downloading and watching whenever you're feeling blue... (And while you're there, there's the gorgeous Mad World, and... oh, just many more things! Go see!)

So it's been a fun and happy weekend, and busy and all sorts of things, and I won't go on about it too much - just yeay! meeting up with Pros-y friends and chatting Pros-iness and lots of fab Pros-y discussion of fic and writing and all sorts of things, and then The Ojuka Situation and now... Just to set the new week off to a gorgeously Pros-y start, I found something else...

I'm hideously late to this party, because although I'd seen the original version and liked it, for some reason I didn't watch this new version of a vid when it went up at Safehouse (I'm so behind there are still a few Dialj fics I've not read yet - waaah!). But... I've finally watched this now, and I adore it so much that I'm embedding it here because I can! It's sc_fossil's Older-lads vid, and if you've not seen it then do consider this a huge rec, because it's lovely... It's my favourite kind of vid - not just pretty pictures, but one that tells a story, one where the lyrics and the images drag you in. It's like the vid version of fanfic. *g*

There - from the ci5hq Reading Room discussion: this is what I think the best fanfic does, it drags you in and makes you feel desperately for the characters, almost as if you are the characters. And my favourite vidders (Crimson, EmptyMirrors, Ancaster, PRZed for example) do that to me with their vids too. Yeay. *g*

Yeay. I made an icon. See? Its only simple an' all, but I did it all by myself! Excitement! Yet more ways to not do work!

Am also loving the Media Cannibals vid from Circuit right now. Its growing on me the more I watch it too - great song and very them. Lover was a comrade, was a stranger, was a friend..., how perfect is that?
