Today is another happy icon from [livejournal.com profile] probodie - the Capri! I tend to use it when there's something to pleased (or smug *g*) about, because of course the caption comes from the 1991 song by Right Said Fred. Or I use it when there's a car involved. *g*
Too Sexy Capri (ProBodie) Too Sexy Capri (ProBodie) Too Sexy Capri (ProBodie)

I always think its funny that it's the silver Capri that's become iconic of Pros, because of course Doyle drove a gold Capri (and I think the first one we see in an ep is a black Capri driven by Tommy), and Doyle drove the Escort as well (okay, that's kind of iconic too). I guess the silver is just a bit classier than the gold (or "boring" as my cousin once said of silver cars - but I drive a "boring" car myself, so...), and perhaps we see it more often than the other vehicles... I could see if Professional Insight says anything about that... Ha - of course it does!

Right:
Bodie drove the silver Capri in 31 eps (actually there were 3 of them)
Doyle drove the gold Capri in 13 eps
Doyle also drove a silver Capri in 1 ep, bringing its appearance to 32
Doyle drove the white Escort in 21 eps
Doyle also drove many more other cars than Bodie did, so we associate one car more strongly with Bodie

So there - the silver Capri is the car we see most in Pros!

And actually, because I just watched the vid and it made me smile even before I've my coffee - please do watch it with me!

This icon breaks my heart a little bit every time I see it - the idea of our lads without each other... but I adore it for the depth of that very feeling, and how it reinforces that our lads are so right together. It's another icon by the fab [livejournal.com profile] crimson_37 - she so often went straight to the heart of it...

It also reminds me of two vids by [livejournal.com profile] recycledmedia. The first one I saw was this one:

...and then I found she'd done one for Doyle too...

Recycled Media's vids on YouTube

I'm not usually convinced by pairing our lads with country music, and oddly enough my older lads aren't older-MS or older-LC (Doyle will always have curly hair, for a start... *g*) but I do think both these vids work.

Loving this vid right now (though it's from way back in 2011!) Vid by Charmax, original music by Eliza McCarthy and Imagined Village.

Tripod! How have I never heard of them? Has everyone else heard of them? Someone somewhere that I don't really know posted a link to one of their vids, and it was funny enough that I looked up some more, and now my tummy hurts from laughing and my mouth hurts from smiling and I have to go to bed (not cos of them but cos it's half midnight and I have work tomorrow... *g*), but I'm so glad lj's back up so that I can post these and not lose them! For instance...

This is the one that started pulling me in - Kempt

This is probably ancient, but I've just come across it. Hee.

Sometimes adverts are just very clever and worth watching... *g*

On my way to NT volunteering this morning, before a full day's work this afternoon and then getting ready for tomorrow's Job 2.2 all-day online meeting, I suddenly realised that last weekend, which I messed up by working in, were the last days I'd have off for about six weeks - ack! I'm hoping to at least have some quieter days in there, I must catch up on lj, and I'm desperate to escape to a beach for just a few hours, but in the meantime I found this via the dread fb. There's always books. Phew!

How brilliant and happy-making is that? *vbg*

There needs to be much more of this sort of thing around - so very beautifully shot, such a very beautiful boy, and you've gotta love someone so competent and in control of his body...
...plus as someone elsewhere suggested, there's a vague flavour of Jackdaw about him... *g*

I spent years when I was a kid, wishing I could see even a picture of the aurora borealis (or australis, for that matter... *g*) And now there's this - set to music, even! Ain't the future grand?

I miss going out at night and looking up to see this... *sighs* Maybe I should move to the Shetlands... *g*

The Isle of Man does Parkour - and not only is this lad skilled, but the film is gorgeously shot and it looks like he edited it himself. Look at what he does on the Laxey Wheel! And oh, the view over Douglas Harbour...

I think I was looking for weather, and I found this instead - gotta love it when kids are creative and competent!

...then even I'm pretty seriously old...

From ancient times people suspected that human activity could change the climate. For example, in the 19th century many Americans believed that cutting down forests brought more rainfall to a region.

Ah, the ancient times of the 1800s... I wouldn't mind, but he's a scientist, and was Director of a reasonably big institute until he retired, for all it looks like he's written more popular work than peer-reviewed. God knows how he'd describe Clovis culture, or... so how does he view "ancient Greece"?!

Ancient times... *headdesk*

ETA - this! This is what it reminds me of!

(Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] ariss_tenoh, on whose lj I saw it - I just had to show anyone else who might not have seen it!)

And here's what the Guardian has to say - oh, and maybe she's won more recently than that - I must go and watch those too!
