Spring Colours

Last weekend, in a fit of boredom, I took myself to one of our local National Trust places - Anglesey Abbey, which I adore for its winter garden, and is famous for its snowdrops. I've not often been just after snowdrop season though, and it turned out that mid-spring was full of colour and gorgeousness...

I adore these copper birch trees - I could stand staring at them forever...

Although silver birch is also... )

Stonehenge in the snow! Gorgeous it was too - a cutting wind, mind you - there was something magical about seeing it outside of the sunshine and normal tourist crowds...

And then I was safely ensconced in Devon with [livejournal.com profile] foxcat74, her mate D, and everyone else in the Foxcat house... *g* Temeraire did a brilliant job - yeay, her!

And this morning, we caught a glimpse of this chap in Burton's... *g*

New shirts for the elves, perhaps? Or maybe it's just that he seems to have lost alot of weight... *g*

Ho-ome...

There's something about coming home when you've had a long, lush weekend in London... when it's all about thinking back on that long, lush weekend in London... *g*

Which started out looking like this...

Although admittedly this was after Temeraire'd had a major strop when I tried to park her on the hill in UsualPlace, and refused several times to go either in or out of gear, though she did eventually let herself be manoevred into position... Starbucks helped though, as did being surrounded by Pros-y peeps who have the proper kind of priorities in life - [livejournal.com profile] foxcat74's understanding of the glories of a heart-touched latte, for example... *g*

And then... )

So... I finished this session's marking - huzzah! Very odd it is too - didn't know what to do with myself last night, not having to sit in front of the computer and decipher panicked handwriting for a couple of hours, so I watched some more Northern Exposure - one of my favourite ones, First Snow, which made me just a wee bit more homesick for Alaska... NE's pretty close in alot of ways (though the trees are way to tall for where I was... *g*)

Oh, and hmmmn - this is what my world looked like in February 2007!

A little more 2007... )

But this is what my world looked like on Saturday, when I went off for an adventure somewhere new, which turned out to be the noisiest forest in the whole world...

There was mist, and a lake, and ancient, ancient trees...

Hatfield Forest, hear it roar... )

Except that stoopid roaring world also has Remakes, Reboots and Re-imaginings on at the BFI at Southbank tonight and I'm going! I'm going to see the lads on the big screen! Wheeeee! I suppose it's too much to hope that there'll be movie posters, but... *sighs happily* And there'll be an ep of The New Professionals too, which I've never seen, and which [livejournal.com profile] agentxpndble very cleverly and timelyly posted about last night...

And now I suppose I'd better go to work for - whee, three hours! - so that I can hit the road and brave the cold and get meself to the big smoke... *vbg*

Icon mememememe!

From [livejournal.com profile] jojosimco...

Audience participation is optional but the mememememe is as follows:

1. Reply to this post saying "ME! ME! ME!", and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon squee.

She chose these five of my icons...

And I'm leaving them as a strip because they're so pretty... I like my icons... *g*

The first one is one I don't use nearly often enough, and do I do rather love it - it's Don DeMarco, from Ladder of Swords, playing the fiddle at dusk, and there are four of my favourite things, right there... I adore that time of day, when the stars are just coming out, and everything is magical - or perhaps because it could be magical, it's a time in between the world of day and the world of night, where everything might become possible... And Don DeMarco is my second-favourite MS character - I love that he's so real and unheroic, which is what makes him utterly a hero... And hee - I even made that icon myself... *g*

The second one... )

Hold Your Breath, Sunshine

Could've.
Should've.
Would've.
Didn't. Didn't. Didn't.
