(Maybe bribery will help)
...a Pros pic or article posted or drabble written (your choice which) for anyone who'll tell me their opinion/thoughts/feelings about Windows 10 compared to Windows 7!
As soon as I decide one way, I change my mind and decide the other way instead.
Who's used Windows 10? Do you like it better or worse than Windows 7? Has it slowed your computer/laptop down? Sped it up? Neither, but you like it anyway? Neither but you hate it anyway?
I know some of you have found yourselves with Windows 10 unexpectedly - now that you've used it for a while, what d'you think?
Please tell meeeeeee!

Date: Tuesday, 26 July 2016 04:22 pm (UTC)It slowed down my laptop, but just while starting, it takes ages until it's on. But then it's on and everything works fine.
I had trouble turning my laptop off at the beginning. It started right up again, sometimes the laptop was working all night.
It took me some time to fix that, but it was quite easy, once I asked the right questions.
All my programs still work, one even better than on 7.
And I found it very, very easy to switch, because the programs were just there, all my stuff was still where I had it in 7. Changing from XP to 8 was such a huge nuisance,.
There are some add ons I could live without, that I can't turn off, like the cloud drive, which I'm not using at all, because I have my own personal cloud. So it's a bit annoying. But the rest is fine, as Snailbones said, just 7 with fancy stuff added.
A friend of mine is alright with it, too. We tried to install a video cutting program on laptops from other friends, one with win10 and one with win 7, it didn't work on either, because the machines were a bit outdated, nothing to do with the system.
All in all, everybody I asked or heard talking about was alright with it, once they got it working properly. Which is a problem every time a system is updated, so nothing new there.
All in all I liked 7 very much, but 10 isn't bad either, I would switch again. I do hope that helps.

His laptop is not the newest either, we got it from my brother, but it worked fine from the start.

Date: Tuesday, 26 July 2016 10:39 pm (UTC)It's almost no difference, and I hope to keep my laptop for another five years, and I rather fear the thing they did with XP, where the support just expired.
On the other hand, them knowing so much is quite concerning.
I've never seen this article before, and I'm sorry to say, but I don't much care for the things it says.
I'll translate it tomorrow.

Date: Tuesday, 26 July 2016 11:01 pm (UTC)I'd worry about support expiring too - I think Win7 has got until 2020 - but I suspect I'll need a new laptop before then, because my lovely one is definitely more than three years old, and my previous laptops have all expired shortly after that... though I don't want this one to! I like it's lovely big Scrabble-keys, and the way my wrists rest on it, and... and... *crosses fingers*
