In the spirit of posting a bit more often, I shall inundate you with photos of the weekend... *g* I got to London on Saturday, where the tube line I needed had closed, so I was a wee bit late getting to my hotel, where [livejournal.com profile] heliophile_oxon was patiently waiting. We had a wander and a sandwich and much chat, and it didn't matter at all that it was raining a bit, because yeay, Pros-friends-chat! So that was an excellent start to the weekend. *g*

I'd been "upgraded" to a room with a four-poster bed, which looked rather cool...

...and would have been even cooler if the room wasn't above the boiler room from which there was a constant loud whining overnight. Still, I think it's the first four-poster bed I've slept in! *g*

I had to work on Sunday of course, from the ridiculous hour of registration-at-8am. We got there for half-eight, but even so we were way too early for the hotel breakfast. With a work commute like this though, I didn't mind too much.

And this was part of my commute "home" from work that day...

Bizarrely enough I've not been to see this yet - it's just been bad timing to even think about it, and I must admit that it's not a role or play I'm dying to see. I would like to see it, but... well, I'll have to work it out.

Stopped for a drink after work with Colleague, which was just so nice and civilised - you don't get to do that much when you're proofreading (in which case it's just drinking alone at home, not at all the same!) or nannying (where it's rather frowned upon...!) We picked a random pub - oh, it was The Princess of Wales! - and I realised that this was above C's head.

So a bit of added romance and swashbuckling!

After which I collected my luggage and took myself off to meet [livejournal.com profile] kiwisue, who's putting me up for a couple of nights. There was dinner and chat and especially chat about Point of Sighs (*happy happy sigh*) and more Pros-friends-chat.

And now I'm looking forward to meeting more Pros-chaps at a Pros location around lunchtime - including a surprise addition to the group, as arranged by KWS. Plus the sun is out. Yeay!

It was wonderful! The only problem now is having to wait so long until the next one... Oh, but it was wonderful!

Looks like a lovely weekend! And maybe because of the politics, I would very much love to see The Best Man. I've only see Martin in one play, and he was great.

And more Pros for you! How great is that?

It was a rather nice weekend, even if it was mostly work - but more Pros to come, yeay! *g*

I've seen MS in a few plays, and I do like to see him - but I'd like to see him less be-suited, I think...

Oh, lovely! What fun. I wish it wasn't a whole ocean-and-half-a-continent away to go to London. What a fabulous time it sounds like you're having.

Hah. Too bad about the boiler, but fun about the bed!

Very nice to mix business with side-bits of Pros. Perfect, actually. Thanks for sharing and I hope it all continues in such grand style!

It's definitely a lovely time being had - I don't want to go home tomorrow! Wouldn't it be lovely if they could invent some time-space machine that would just teleport us to where we needed to go without worrying about all that oceans-and-continents stuff... Maybe one day!

Really lovely, and also an exceptionally delicious sandwich *g* (and oh my yes, that was a very surprising surprise. Though trust me to be face-blind, as usual :-s )

It was an excellent sandwich! *g*

Heee for being face-blind - that's entirely the sort of thing I would have done, especially with not knowing Agent Tallis and Helen Raven at all! A year is such a long time when there are so many other faces in between seeing someone you've met relatively briefly again! I worried for years that I wouldn't recognise my seasonal work colleagues from one 12-months to the next...

Well hurray for your fun-filled London trip and for the four poster bed!
I wish I could have made it on time; but I hope to meet you in the not too distant future, not necessarily in London, maybe down your way in Somerset, or somewhere else... 😎

Result on the room upgrade! That bed definitely looks like something out of a fairytale. :-)

The bed looks great, like one for a princess! And the morning view is really nice.
