Happy Friday! Sandwiches and Jailbirds and Heeee!

Some days suck, and so do some other days, but sometimes things come in the post that just make you grin and grin and grin... And today it was Jane Asher's Fancy Dress (1983), that I've been meaning to buy for ages, and succumbed to yesterday (cos it was really cheap) - and it arrived today! And... three pages of Martin Shaw dressed as a sandwich!



Aaaaaand... as a "jailbird"...



How can you not grin wildly at that! Happy Friday! *g*

I've never seen all of them - just the occasional one, and all out of context, so I had no idea what the whole thing was about. The book is ace... just wish that LC had helped out too... *g*

And I adore that it just proves the whole media merry-go-round wrong as well - can't imagine someone really going the whole pretentions "serious actor" route and still doing something like this... He couldn't take himself so seriously, now could he?! *g*

Thanks for posting these. The first time I saw them I instantly added them to my list of things to thank Jane Asher for. She also provided the inspiration for many a wonderful childhood birthday cake. The woman deserves some love. :)

It's from a very old fancy dress costume book - from 1983 (okay, not that old... *g*). I love that his hair's still curly, even after Pros! (I suppose the pics could have been taken before the book was published, but... well... *g*

I had no clue you hadn't seen these since they've been up on CI5 Addict's website for a good while, even before I got my copy of the book last year at a con. I never think of posting stuff because I guess I think I'm 30 years too late and everybody's seen all that's out there already. Shows you what I know.

I think the article is darned cute and MS obviously has a good sense of humour. Still, it's great seeing this again so thanks. And I can see that plenty of other folks haven't seen them as well, so you're sharing the lurv.

Oh, there's stuff everywhere, isn't there - they may well be up at Martin's Place Yahoo group as well, I guess. You can't really list all the things that are around though - well, you could try, but it's quite a job, and look how long palelyloitering is taking me! And even then people don't always have time to go and look in the various places... So I reckon it's nice to see things posted up to lj now and then - I enjoy it when other people do it, anyway!

I guess the other thing is that even though Pros is thirty years old, we've not all been following it that long, and we haven't all had the chance to collect things, or see things as they come along, so - again I say - please post! *g* Even if we have seen something before, it's lovely cheery thing to see our lads appear in our flists every now and then! Well, I reckon... *g*

Even though I've been in the fandom for a good few years these pictures are all completely new to me - I had no idea he'd done this shoot and I'd never heard of Jane Asher's book, so thanks for that! And it's amazing when you think how many actors know each other as friends - as far as acting goes, it really does seem to be a small world.
