Happy Friday! Sandwiches and Jailbirds and Heeee!

Some days suck, and so do some other days, but sometimes things come in the post that just make you grin and grin and grin... And today it was Jane Asher's Fancy Dress (1983), that I've been meaning to buy for ages, and succumbed to yesterday (cos it was really cheap) - and it arrived today! And... three pages of Martin Shaw dressed as a sandwich!

Aaaaaand... as a "jailbird"...

How can you not grin wildly at that! Happy Friday! *g*

Date: Friday, 23 January 2009 04:33 pm (UTC)I have a mate in London who is a big Jane Asher fan. She's a baker and really likes Asher's recipes. I remember being utterly delighted when I thumbed through the book to find surprise MS!

Date: Friday, 23 January 2009 04:57 pm (UTC)My memory might be faulty but I think that book is about twenty years old. My mate had it for the Jane Asher interest, not the MS 'ship and I've seen pictures around the fandom of MS as the sandwich so I assumed everyone had already seen the pictures. I know I've seen it recently in Greenheart's vid for MS' birthday.
I still have feelers out for the leather jacket piccie. I'm not a collector -- I've never collected anything except books -- so I've been whining at my collector mates as that's the only way I could have seen it. As I've only been part of this fandom for a few months and the fandom is thirty years old and *full* of collectors, I always assume that everyone has already seen what I've seen so it never occurs to me to snag and post images.

Date: Friday, 23 January 2009 06:19 pm (UTC)Oh, you should always snag and post images - even if we've seen them before it's fun to share the glee and squee... *g* And there's new people coming in all the time, and as I've said before, even after nearly 4 years I'm still coming across tons of things - especially pictures - that I've never seen. I've gone for zines rather than pics, cos I can't afford both (or either, really!) but even though there's lots of collectors in Pros they've not all got access to ways of putting their collections online, so... Plus Pros may be 30 years old, but sharing things via lj is only a few years old, so just because it's ancient history doesn't mean that it's been seen by all of us! To sum up: posting - always worth it! *g*
